KATZ Plum Preserves - Casselman 16 oz
This year the Casselman plums, simply some of the best tasting for preserves, are ready to go from the Nakamura family in the Suisun Valley where they have been growing them for many decades. This variety is a hybrid of the Santa Rosa Plum developed by Luther Burbank, which was used by Mr. Casselman to develop his own unique plum. It has bright red skin and deep amber flesh, which turns almost scarlet the longer they hang on the tree.
As with all the other plum varieties, we carefully remove most of the skin to then cut up the remaining fruit to cook it down in small batches for those of you who patiently wait all year for our KATZ Casselman Plum Preserves.
The finished KATZ Casselman Plum Preserves are crimson colored with a deep, rich, sweetly tart flavor.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Our Plum Preserves are great served with pork roast, turkey or duck, - try our recipe for Seared Duck Breast With Casselman Plum Gastrique - or of course perfect spread on warm toast or fresh muffins.
Our preserves are made the old-fashioned way...we do not use any preservatives, period! Please enjoy every spoonful of our fresh fruit preserves, and refrigerate after opening.
