KATZ 2021 DECEMBER'S NEW OIL, "Olio Nuovo" ~ 1/2-GALLON $100
Harvest Notes From Albert Katz
The harvest began a bit earlier than normal (whatever normal is anymore!), October 28th, on a cool, crisp fall morning. Our crews headed into the olive groves to begin picking the Leccino variety of olives, which are traditionally the first to ripen. The picking lasted five days, and we finished up on November 3rd, a few weeks earlier than usual.
We pressed some bright, green, and spicy oil from the Leccino and Frantoio varieties, and these will make up most of the Olio Nuovo blend this year. I am finding grassiness, spiciness, and greenness that are typical in our youthful oil. It also is a bit more accessible than in some years, overall, nicely robust!
Ciao, Albert Katz
P.S. This freshly milled olive oil is meant to be used without delay and with GUSTO!
These are now sold out for the year!
